Photo Card Creations is a ‘boutique’ custom card company. We are smaller than some of our competitors such as Snapfish or Shutterfly. Because of our smaller size, we are able to offer a much more personal’ ordering experience for our customers. There is a ‘human’ involved in processing your order & you can easily speak to a LIVE person if you have any questions about your order. We know who you are; you are not just a number to us.

With a professional graphic designer personally handling each order, we offer a more hands-on approach to customer service than many of their competitors. Our designers will check your order for missing info, spell check your text, check the quality of your digital files, touch-up your photos & design your cards by hand. We can customize your card layout, changing the size or shape of your photos, slightly altering the card design &/or customizing the colors in your cards. Included in the cost of your cards is an unlimited number of proof revisions. Thus, if you don't like the photo(s), colors, text or any design element in your original proofs, we will work with you & revise your proofs as many times as necessary until you are 110% happy.

Many of our competitors offer a limited range of paper types & options. Some offer only Photo Paper or Matte cardstock; others only offer Flat 5x7" cards. We offer both Flat & Folded cards, in a variety of sizes, paper surfaces/cardstocks & colors! Many of our Fine Art cardstocks that are hard to find elsewhere include our unique Watercolor Cards w/Hand-torn Edge, Linen-textured Cards, Smooth Recycled Matte Cards, & our Panel Inset Cards. Our Digital Press Printed Cards include our Glossy Cardstock, Semi-Glossy Cardstock, Pearl Cardstock & Linen-textured cardstock. Our Flat Cards are available with the regular Straight Edges OR with Rounded Edges, another unique feature that will be hard to find elsewhere. Our unique Ornate and Scalloped shaped Flat Cards & our Christmas Ornament Cards are also great additions to our product line.

Although we offer dozens of unique Designer Cards (pre-designed card layouts) like our competitors, we also offer the option for you to Create Your Own Cards (cards that you customize from scratch), which most of our competitors DO NOT offer. To Create Your Own Cards, you select the cardstock type, size & color, Flat vs. Folded card. You select a Photo Border for your photo, the Font for your greetings, the greeting for the Front and/or Inside of your cards, & return address imprinting on your Envelopes (all of these features are optional). The result is a truly unique, one of a kind card!

Proofs are sent approximately 1-3 business days after your order is received & your order is shipped approximately 3-5 business days after you approve your proof.

The majority of our competitors offer only an emailed or online proofing option. In addition to offering an emailed proof, we also offer a MAILED proofing option.

An online/emailed proof is a great way to view & make sure you are happy with the layout of your card before your order is printed. It is recommended if you have seen samples of our cards, have ordered from us before or are in a hurry to get your cards (especially during our holiday season). However, receiving a MAILED proof allows you to touch & feel the cardstock & see how your photo looks printed on the cardstock you have selected.

Almost all of our competitors require payment in full at the time you place your order; we don’t. You do not have to pay for your order until you approve your proofs for printing.

We will do minor editing, cropping, color adjustments & removal of flaws from your photos, if need by or requested by you so that your photos print as nicely as possible. Also, our Designer Cards (pre-designed cards) are not ONLY available as seen. Most can be customized, to incorporate your unique style into your cards! We can change the Font Type or Color, the background colors in the card design, add additional photos or make slight alterations to the design layout.

We are proud to offer our Signature Recycled White Matte Cardstock. This Cardstock is replacing our previous Matte Cardstock offered & is one of the 6 Paper Types we offer for many of our Photo Cards. This eco-friendly paper is a thick, 100 lb. cardstock in a smooth, silky white color. It is made using renewable Green-e Certified energy, is FSC Certified & is made using 100% post consumer waste. The clean appearance & smooth surface make this 100% Recycled paper appear non-recycled.

To place your order, simply select the card you'd like to order & then select your Card Size, Quantity & Paper Type & hit the “Personalize” button to continue filling out your Order Form. Once you finish making your card selections, you will need to enter your Shipping & Billing information. However, you do not have to pay anything at this time. Your credit card information will be kept on file & you will not be charged until you approve your proofs & your order starts printing. Hit ‘Submit’ to send your order & then click the Photo Upload Button on the next page (the page that shows that your order has been successfully sent) to start uploading your photos. Upload one photo at a time, if there are more than one. Then you're done! You will receive an email confirmation with a copy of your order form & we will email (or mail, whichever option you select) your proofs to you within 1 business day. You will have the opportunity to make an unlimited number of changes to your proofs, if necessary. Once you give us the final approval on your proofs, your credit card will be charged & we will print & ship your order within 1-3 business days.

Included with your card order, at no additional cost, are the following:

• Additional photos printed on your cards (beyond the number of photos included in the card design selected).
• Return Address printing on your envelopes.
• Mailed Hardcopy Proof (small fee applies only for SOME products. Check each product page for details)
• While we will create an unlimited number of Emailed Proofs for your original card ordered, until you are 110% satisfied, should you change your order to a completely different card after your original proof(s) have already been created, there will be a minimum $15 New Proof Setup Fee charge (since we will have to start from scratch & create a brand new set of proofs for you).
• Photo editing deemed as more than minimal editing ($25 minimum fee; $25 per each additional half hour).
• Rush Your Order & receive it in ½ the normal turnaround time.
• Specialty Envelopes – Upgrade to one of our Foil Lined Envelopes
• Pre Ship Envelopes – have your envelopes shipped early.
• Printing of “Mail To Addresses” on the front of envelopes

You have the option of receiving either an Emailed Proof or a Hardcopy Proof via Mail. When time permits, Mailed Proofs are highly recommended to guarantee your satisfaction with your cards. However, Emailed Proofs are our most popular proofing method & are recommended during our Holiday Season, if you have placed orders with us in the past &/or if you have received samples of our cardstock.

The following turnaround times apply to all orders received before the end of each business day (5pm EST, Monday through Friday):

If you request an Emailed Proof, you will receive an email with links to view your online proofs within approximately 1 business day.

If you request a Mailed Proof, your proof will be mailed within approximately 2-3 business days. Proofs are mailed via US Postal Service 1st Class Mail & will take anywhere from 1-5 days to get to you from our office in CT.

If, after having received your proof, you would like any changes, your changes will be emailed to you within approximately 1 business day.

Once your order has been approved by you for printing, your order will be shipped within approximately 1-3 business days via the Shipping method of your choice.

Holiday Season
Our Holiday Season starts around November 1st & continues through the end of the year. This is our busiest season & we must follow very strict production schedules. Be sure to place your orders as early as possible to avoid delays. Although Mailed Proofs are available, they are not recommended for Holiday Card orders due to the extra time it adds to the Turnaround Time.

In a hurry to receive your cards? Receive your order in half the normal turnaround time.

Rush Fees are $50 (Jan 1st – Oct 31st) or $100 (Nov 1st – Dec 31st).

*Orders can only be Rushed when requesting an Emailed Proof.

*Designer Cards printed on White Linen Cardstock CANNOT be Rushed.

For the best results & the highest image quality, always submit your original, largest size, highest resolution digital file. Do not use cell phone images or web site images as those files will be too small to get a good quality printed image. The recommended minimum file size is a 1000x1500 pixel JPG or TIFF file saved at 300 dpi in a 4x6’ or 5x7” size. We cannot guarantee high quality output if your images are submitted at a lower resolution or as poor quality.

Although we can enhance your photo by doing minor editing, we cannot improve images that are provided to us as poor quality. This includes images that are out of focus, too dark or bright, low-resolution or pixilated.

The easiest way to send your photo/files to us is to upload your files after you submit your Online Order. When you have completed your order form, you will be prompted to click on a link to upload your files. * Each file should be at least 1000x1500 pixels & saved as 300 dpi JPEG or TIFF file.

You can also email us your photo file(s) if you’d like. Make sure your files are at least 1000x1500 pixels and saved as a 300 dpi JPG or TIFF file.

If you are scanning your photo(s) in preparation to email them, scan your photo(s) at 300 dpi and save them as uncompressed JPEG files in 5x7 or 4x6" size.

If you are mailing your photo(s), you can send either an 8x10” or smaller photo or a CD/DVD with your files. Make sure your files are at least 1000x1500 pixels & saved as a 300 dpi JPEG or TIFF file.

We realize that most people only have digital files or have the easiest access to their digital files so sending digital file(s) is absolutely fine. Just follow the Image Guidelines above.

Keep in mind, however, that we cannot guarantee that the color you see on your monitor when viewing your proofs or photo files will exactly match the colors printed on your cards. They will be close, but not exact. This is because every computer monitor is different so colors will appear slightly different from one monitor to the next. If you are concerned about the printed quality of your photo, we recommend that you request to receive a Mailed Proof versus an Emailed Proof. When time permits, we also recommend that you request a Mailed Proof if you have never seen samples of our cards or if you have not ordered from us before.

If you have a hard copy of your photo & time permits, we recommend that you mail your photo to us. The best way for us to match the color balance, brightness, skin tones, saturation, etc. is if we have your original photo to use as a guideline (we will return your photo to you).

We accept U.S. checks, Visa, Master Card and American Express. If you are paying by credit card, you will need to enter your billing information when placing your order, but you will not be charged anything at this time. Your credit card information will be kept on file & you will not be charged until you approve your proofs & your order starts printing. If you are paying by check, you must mail in your order along with a check for the full amount.

Shipping costs vary depending on the number of cards ordered, your shipping location & the shipping method you select. Your shipping options & costs will appear at the end of your Order Form but we have also included the costs below for all Domestic Orders of up to 250 cards.

All International Packages are shipped via US Postal Service Express or Priority Air. The cost & delivery times will vary depending on the quantity of cards ordered, the Shipping method selected & the location the package is being shipped to.

All International Packages are subject to customs & additional Tariffs. There is no way for us to know if additional Tariffs are going to be charged as it is random, is up to Customs & every Country is different. From our experience, packages being shipped to Canada, the UK & Ireland are RARELY subject to add’l Tariffs. However, if additional Tariffs are charged, the additional expense is your responsibility.

Below are the S&H Costs for orders of up to 250 cards shipped to the United Kingdom, Ireland & Canada.

When placing your order, you will need to enter your billing information, but you will not be charged anything at this time. Your credit card information will be kept on file & you will not be charged until you approve your proofs & your order starts printing. Should you decide to cancel your order after your order has been received, you will be charged a minimum $35 cancellation fee.

If we make a mistake based on the information you have provided, we will correct it, replace your order & send the corrected order to you via overnight mail. We will send you a UPS Shipping Label for you to return your incorrect order to us.

You are not entitled to a refund if your cards are printed with incorrect information provided by you or if you approve your proofs with an error included in the proofs.

If you are not happy with your cards, once received, & neither of the above 2 scenarios apply, please contact us immediately so we can address your concerns. Since all of our orders are custom, we do not issue refunds. However, depending on the nature of your issue/concern, you might be entitled to a reprint. All return requests are treated on an individual basis & are up to the discretion of management.

If you do not see a sample of the type of card you would like, we can custom design a card especially for you! Contact Us with your specific theme or ideas. There is a minimum charge of $25, and then $25 for each additional half hour. Most custom orders take about an hour to design. Custom designed cards are NOT available from Nov. 1st through Dec. 31st.

Each image submitter is required by US law to own the right to, or to obtain permission to, use any image before the image is uploaded or printed at Photo Card Creations. (This permission may be included in the form of your wedding or other contract) At Photo Card Creation’s discretion and in appropriate circumstances, Photo Card Creations may cancel an order placed by a client who infringes upon the intellectual property rights of others. Your physical or electronic sharing of your images constitutes permission for reprinting by Photo Card Creations.
